It’ll be coming after the series released Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in 2025, a film that included the first two episodes of the third season’s arc.

Tweaks serve to add depth to storylines and characters already on the board, but avoid anything that would completely redefine those characters in the same way Galadriel having the hots for Sauron redefines her in The Rings of Power.

How Else The Legend Of Vox Machina Beats The Rings Of Power

The Legend of Vox Machina is a beautifully animated series, but the level of production values on The Rings of Power is something else entirely.

As well as a full-sized, custom-made Middle-earth map, The Dawnless Days mod adds a campaign that takes players through The Lord of the Rings' War of the Ring, where they choose one of nine factions and embark on an epic journey to either defeat the forces of darkness or lead their reign of terror across Middle-earth.

While The Legend of Vox Machina also makes changes to the story it's based on, these alterations are almost exclusively the complimentary, non-invasive kind (like the Harfoots) rather than the divisive canon rewrite kind (like Tom Bombadil).

Inspired by the first Critical Role tabletop role-playing campaign, The Legend of Vox Machina follows the original overarching plot, but with noticeable differences.

There is, however, another side to that conversation: Prime Video has a far superior fantasy adaptation already on its books.

There are facets of The Rings of Power that take a corner of Tolkien's mythology and expand upon it in a manner complimentary to what came before.

The Rings of Power depicts the hairy-footed clans as fascinating cultures that share similarities with hobbits from The Lord of the Rings' timeline, but remain distinctly individual.

With early hobbits and the formation of the Shire largely untouched by Tolkien, The Rings of Power has license to weave its own mythology without upsetting what the author previously established.

In particular, science fiction and fantasy seem to be two genres that continuously repeat in terms of what new content will emerge in 2026; that being said, this list is looking at what we consider the best fantasy anime you should keep on your radar in the new year. The Lord of the Rings has its Fellowship, while The Hobbit has Thorin's Company, and both stories create strong emotional bonds between the heroes and the reader.

The Rings of Power lacks that.

The anime adaptation is set to debut sometime in January 2026, produced by Studio Kai, a company that also worked on the upcoming sci-fi series Snowball Earth. Percy's death, for example, was only a brief arc in the web series, with the character quickly brought back to life. Total War: Attilaoriginally released all the way back in February 2015, where it received a generally positive reception from critics, with many praising the game's subtle improvements to the series' formula while highlighting that it still felt like more of an expansion to Total War: Rome 2 than a fully-fledged new entry.

According to reputable tracker site SteamDB, Total War: Attila has an all-time peak player count of 26,346, which it achieved when it first launched in February 2015.

Within the anime community, there’s been plenty of interesting discourse on which shows, films, and announcements made the most waves this year, with some heavy-hitters taking the spotlight. At the time of writing, Total War: Attila has 8,908 active players according to SteamDB, which is a considerable increase from the game's 3,216 active players on December 11, the day before The Dawnless Days' launch.

There's no way of knowing how long this Total War: Attila surge will last, but there's a chance it could last just a little while longer given that the game is currently part of the 2025 Steam Winter Sale.
